Monday through Saturday, January 2nd – February 28th, ALL DAY: LeClaire Community Library - Winter Reading BINGO. Stop in and sign up for Winter Reading BINGO! Each BINGO square contains a reading/library activity. Every BINGO will earn you an entry into a grand prize drawing! Cover the entire card for a Blackout BINGO to earn a special prize! Grand prizes will be awarded in every age group. The program runs from January 2nd  – February 28th.

In addition to our fun play area and early literacy stations, we will also have special storytime toys set out to enjoy. This group is best for ages 3-6, though all are welcome. Stop in and socialize with other families, browse through our picture books, and maintain your storytime routine every Tuesday in January at 6:30pm.

Thursday, January 11th, 6:30pm: LeClaire Community Library - Mostly True Tales with Spinsby & Wales. Join us in an ongoing series of LeClaire history talks hosted by local history keepers, Dick Wales and Marie Spinsby. These will be treated as a community dialogue—so bring your memories, photographs, and any questions you might have about LeClaire’s history! This session will focus on Marie Spinsby’s “Construction of I-80 Bridge.”

Thursday, January 18th, 4:30pm: LeClaire Community Library - Teen Advisory Group (TAG). Help plan cool events, request new library materials, eat snacks, and get the inside scoop on what’s happening at the library! This meeting will be self-guided. Don’t forget—your attendance earns you service learning hours and looks great on college/job applications! For 7th grade & up.

Wednesday, January 24th, 6:30pm: LeClaire Community Library - Adult Book Club. This month we’ll be reading Beartown by Fredrik Backman. Books are available at the library’s circulation counter free of cost AND are now available as an eBook through our RiverShare Digital Library Catalog.

Friday, January 26th, 2:00pm: LeClaire Community Library - Drop-In Tech Help. Bring in any device and we will give it a shot! Please arrive with passwords needed to access your device or accounts. 2:00pm – 3:30pm.​


SERVING THE COMMUNITY AND BEYOND
Twice monthly, the first and third Sundays of the month, the First Presbyterian Church of LeClaire is holding 
"The Sunday Dinner Senior Club". Seniors and, really anyone, who prefers not to eat alone, can join us for Sunday dinner at11:45, in our fellowship hall. Dinner is dutch treat; the group decides whether to order take-out, bring a sack lunch or potluck. Join us and bring a friend.

The Ascentra Credit Union volunteer board of directors and senior leadership team have been busy paying it forward this summer to 36 different charities and organizations, donating $17,000 in Leadership Grants from the Ascentra Credit Union Foundation. In 2015, the Ascentra Credit Union Foundation successfully established its Leadership Grants to stay true to Ascentra’s People-Helping-People philosophy and support giving back to the community.  Each of Ascentra’s volunteer board of directors and senior leadership team were given $1,000 to support causes that are meaningful to them.  Since then, the Leadership Grants have continued to make a positive impact and have awarded a total of $51,000.

First Presbyterian Church, Le Claire at 200 South 12th Street, across from Bridgeview Elementary School:  Let's continue to learn – God has much to teach us. Here are some times for classes you are invited to attend:

1. DO DROP IN - Twice a month, 2nd and 4th Sundays, a drop in class for 30 minutes about church topics: Prayer, the Lord’s Prayer, the Apostles’ Creed, other Creeds, Advent, Lent, Baptism, Communion, etc.  Come when you can, 11:10-11:40 am, beginning August 27.

2. COVENANT Bible Study – Mondays, 1-2:30 pm, 3+ weeks: learn about creating, living and trusting the covenant we have with God; begins 9-11-17.

3.COVENANT II Bible Study – Mondays, 6:30-8 pm; same as above, only in the evening;

3+ weeks: learn about creating, living and trusting the covenant we have with God; begins  9-11-17.

4. FPC BOOK CLUB – meet once a month at someone’s home for dessert, coffee, tea and discussion on book; first Tuesday of the month; 6:30 -8:30 pm. Begins 9-5-17; Book: In His Steps, by Charles Monroe Sheldon; meet at Pastor Melody’s house.
